Craig vs 6 Players (Did you spot the scoring error ❌?)
There was an error with the scoring, did you spot it?
This was lots of fun to do and film. I’d just delivered my Service Training Day at Grantham College (Lincolnshire, UK) to 24 players from all over the country and I opened up this challenge to them.
Six brave souls stepped up to the challenge and put their serving and their playing skills to the test. How do you think you’d get on?
I deliver my Service Training Day all over the UK, as well as internationally. If you’re interested in hosting a Service Training Day at your club or for your team, then send me an email: coachcraigtt@gmail.com

Mr. Bryant is the Adrian Mannarino look a like in TT😉..super video
He’s a good looking guy 😜
3! Because it's the most usable! What a serve!
9 ! That's some serious reverse spin..1❤
Brooo w song. Haven’t listened to it in ages
A tune right 🎧
@@TheTableTennisServiceGuy yeeeee
What’s the song calllllled?
‘Piece of your heart’ Meduza
The around the water bottle is my favorite. However the control on the others is hard to imagine.
Is it side spin or under spin ?
2,3 ,5 and so on
#4 is my fave. To nail it 3x in a row is crazy! 👏🏼
😁
Man, this is amazing!
6 for me, i like the movement in the serve
The backspin on 9 is something i can only dream of getting
If you want to learn how ➡️ thettserviceguy.com
I would wager 10 quid you can't do 5 of those in my presence.😂
Maybe 2 of them actually.
5, with 2 a close second!
3 pois não girou muito
Haha, Craig does 3 different things here, only the difference isn't huge. Just look at the bat angle on the last one. You still need to be able to tell what spin is on the serve.
Of course, if you don’t change then you don’t make the ball short
Would be happy to be able to do any one of them. Even quarter as well 😅
2 so that either (1) the return is high and on the forehand for a smash (given the direction of the spin) or (2) the return goes out to the left off the edge of the table. If (3) the opponent returns the ball successfully it will likely be a top spin ball I can engage with forcefully.
4 (fast and dead) would be my other choice (with the opponent possibly hitting the ball long) but this depends on the opponent.
Sidspin
I like this a lot. Most of the time I know what shot I'm going to hit before they serve, unless of course they mess the serve up and give me a easy ball
What is this nonsense of taking your jacket
We need the full video with detailed explanations for this one. This would be so cool to master this.
👏👏👏
Hi Craig, any tips for the topspin one? I normally end up pushing long if the flick isn't working because I don't have confidence to touch short on it. Looks like: Body and head low Get in position early and let the ball come to you Touch the side of the ball same as the server? So going against the sidespin? Relaxed hand Sometimes I manage to chopblock for second bounce on the table which is nice, one of my training partners took a chunk out of his rubber last time trying to loop it 😂
Thank you for an excellent master class on how to develop a sound backhand technique. On point with the bonus tips 👌🏾

Its hard to even read at slw speed 😂. 1❤

Hi Craig, is it possible to show me where I can get your free service guide? I don't have Instagram 🙊 I'm looking to becoming a coach myself, so all help is more than welcome!
It’s linked on my website too thettserviceguy.com
Thanks, that's very helpful. I'll keep following your content, it's really 👌.
This is a great question because all of them have their merits. When choosing one of these I usually look back on the set(s) played and how the opponent responded to different types of serves. First of all, the second serve would be out for most opponents, unless A) this is my last serve they haven't seen this game, or B) they do not respond well to that "natural" sidespin. (The sidespin that would want to go in the direction your wrist is naturally pointing to) Option 3 is my normal go-to. Just focusing on getting it as fast as possible and most opponents - especially at the lower levels where I am playing at the moment - won't respond in time... or at least not with good quality. Option 4 would be my go-to if the opponent is very susceptible to this kind of "trick-serve." This one especially can be incredibly powerful when used rarely and in combination with the right serves. No. 1 is a good candidate if you only showed option 3 ish serves when serving long. Just a good way to spice up your long and fast serves every once in a while. Of course, a similar argument can be made for option 3 as well in regards to option 1 being the standard. But if I really had the choice here, I usually go with option 3, but down the line as for me as a leftie, this has proven to be most effective in practice
Thats a lot of table tennis bro. Congratulations on your accomplishments. 1❤
I like to play short or long pendulum backspin to the backhand very wide and reverse side top to the forehand also alternating short and long
Hi Craig Lovely video! I have 1 question about the topspin variant: Is there wristmovement needed to create sidespin or is the sidespin created only by pulling the bat upward while contacting the ball on the side? Thanks for sharing all of your great tutorials!
No spin serve because you hit the ball near the edge of the racket At full speed it will be very difficult to read
4. But line it for the ultimate surprise.
How can you make no spin when the contact is under the ball?
It's not under. He cons you with the way he pretends it's going to be backspin. Contact is more to back of the ball.
A bit of spin is still OK
@@akfsx Exactly. It's largely dead but doesn't have to be entirely so. If done right the impact is a hit more than a brush which allows for the largely dead ball.

Dood serveren werkt regelmatig. In goede afwisseling met backspin.
Good 7, need more forward movement....
1 and 3 ball movement look the same i think would choose 1, 3
love the videos, verry useful, easy step by step implementation, even as an intermediate level player could learn a lot from the breakdown explaination of those techniques
I’m glad you found it useful 👌
Woooo let's go
4/5 ...in theory
How
The video explains how 😳😁
Amazing 🤩 The difference between the two serves negligible
😁
All 5. No sweat. Read the ball not the motion of his stroke.
Tutorial of the 4 plz !!!
Check my long video ‘3 Trick Serves’ the tutorial is in there 🙂
#2
no.2 was a beast!! tutorial please...
#2, the spin may result in the ball missing the table or if on, likely to be received on the forehand.
#4 please. I believe you can truly catch an opponent off guard with this one.
